What to Expect at the Lexington Seventh-day Adventist Church

This is a vibrant, multi-cultured church filled with people that love Jesus and their fellow man. From week to week we come together and we share. We share meals with one another and we share the Word of God with one another, we also share our joys and pains with one another, and in the process, we are growing to love Jesus as well as each other.

We are driven by a message and a mission to serve the Lexington community. Though we have lots of fun, we are primarily a mission-focused church. We believe that Jesus is coming soon and we have a responsibility to help people be prepared to meet our Lord and Savior.

Questions:

What should I wear to the Saturday morning services?

You are welcome however you are dressed.  At our services you’ll see many men in suits, sports coats, dress shirts or sweaters, and slacks, and many ladies in dresses, skirts, or dress slacks, however this is not a requirement to attend.  Whether your attire is casual or dressy, we invite you to join us. You will be warmly welcomed!

What is the music like?

A variety of reverent, uplifting music will be heard in our services.  Hymns are accompanied by our beautiful organ and Steinway piano, and sometimes our orchestra.  There is also a variety of music during the service from our many talented musicians and our choir – some traditional, some contemporary, but always striving for reverent and thoughtful music that bring us nearer to God.

Is there a meal for guests visiting on Sabbath?

Below is the monthly schedule for meals after the morning worship service:

First Sabbath: Guest Dinner

Second Sabbath: Fellowship Meal (for the whole church and guests)

Third Sabbath: Guest Dinner

Last Sabbath of the month: Hospitality Sabbath (Members are encouraged to invite each other and guests home for lunch.  There will be no meal at the church on those Sabbaths.)

Are there options for those whose primary language is not English?

Yes!  We provide earphones with Spanish translation that can be picked up in the media room in the foyer right outside the sanctuary doors.  We also have a worship service in Kinyarwanda in the chapel at the same time as the service in English in the sanctuary.
